what's the differences between a popular group and a unpopular group?

so, i was watching these comebacks. You know right, KPOP industry are ALWAYS FULL of comebacks, here and there, artists never seems like to stop /rest..gosh, did they even have time to breathe?
I was watching shinee's "hello" and secrets's "madonna"
I thought, they're both good looking, no uglyness in there whatsoever, (which is what most of the kpop artists must have, an ulzzang face,LOL), and both have awesome vocals, awesome sponsorship (i mean support). But why? why is one popular with flare ratings and one with just...barely nothing?
so, i watched their comebacks.
and the anwesr is soo simple.
first, the concept is too ordinary. I know sexiness is not really a boring concept. but hell yeah, in kpop industry? It is. definitely. unless u are mariah carey or beyonce who can shake it off like there's no tomorrow.
or unless u have celine dion or charice pempengco's vocals to break the glass any moment u started to sing, i think, the sexy concept, doesn't work.
sadly, they have not enough originality at all, and secret's dance choreography is not that impressive after all, at least b2st's dance choreography is quite awesome even thought the song "soom" doesn't go well with the fantastic choreography :/
and i noticed that, as long as u r a SM entertainment artist, u'll definitely have eyes on you. TVXQ , SUPER JUNIOR, SNSD, SHINEE, BOA, KANGTA... they hit it all.
they always ensure the song doesn't suck too much, i mean , at least memorable. for a period. hehe~
but somehow, secret just somehow fail on that point. They;ve got a sucky song, with awesome vocals, which obviously cannot work at all.
in the next 10 years or 20, i just hope that the other entertainment companies got more into originality and stop debuting groups that are "oh-so-not memorable" like nine muses and gp basic (see? i couldn't even remember the name ) and HAM.
and oh, please stoop with the sexy concept for now, I 'm super agitated of that concept now. IT'S SOOO BORING, GOT IT?! SOO freaking BORING.

look for yourself the differences between these two groups...U'll understand what I'm talking about.
